How much distance will be covered by a 11X optical zoom lens?
If I use a 11X Optical Zoom lens, from how much distance(maximum) I will be able to capture the photograph of a butterfly.
Usually people who shoot butterflies use a macro lens like the Nikkor 105 mm f/2.8 or Canon 100 mm f/2.8 macro lenses depending upon the system they are using. At 200 mm at the lenses closest focus, the end of the lens is about 7-1/2 inches from the subject when using a Nikkor 18-200 mm lens
The 18-200 mm lenses made by both camera systems are not macro lenses. The are designed to be used by those who do not want to change lenses while in the field shooting, thus reducing the chances of missing a shot while changing lenses or introducing dust into your cameras body.
